Manuscript Type

Amorti: Jurnal Studi Islam Interdisipliner welcomes scholarly manuscripts that align with its focus on Islamic studies and interdisciplinary approaches to contemporary issues. The journal considers several types of submissions, including original research articles, review articles, case studies, and correspondence to the editors. All submissions must demonstrate academic rigor, originality, relevance to the journal's scope, and compliance with the journal's publication ethics and author guidelines.

1. Research Articles

Research articles report original findings that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in Islamic studies and related disciplines. These manuscripts should present a clearly defined research problem, a sound theoretical or conceptual framework, an appropriate methodology, and a critical analysis of the findings. Research may employ quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods approaches, depending on the research objectives and questions. Relevant methods may include surveys, interviews, observations, case studies, document analysis, textual studies, and statistical analysis. Research articles generally comprise an abstract, introduction, literature review or theoretical framework, research methods, results and discussion, conclusion, and references, as appropriate to the nature of the study.

2. Review Articles

Review articles critically examine and synthesize existing scholarly literature on a specific topic within Islamic studies or its intersections with other disciplines. These manuscripts should provide a comprehensive and coherent account of the current state of knowledge, identify major debates and research gaps, and offer insights into potential directions for future research. Depending on their objectives, review articles may adopt narrative, systematic, scoping, or other appropriate review approaches. Authors are expected to use relevant and credible sources, explain their review procedures where applicable, and develop a critical synthesis rather than merely summarize previously published studies.

3. Case Studies

Case studies provide an in-depth examination of a particular phenomenon, event, institution, community, practice, or experience relevant to Islamic studies and interdisciplinary scholarship. They may address issues in Islamic education, law, economics, social life, culture, religious practice, or other areas within the journal's scope. Manuscripts should establish the significance of the case, describe the context and methods of investigation, and present an evidence-based analysis supported by relevant theoretical perspectives and previous research. Case studies must maintain academic objectivity, respect research ethics, and avoid promotional or unsupported claims. Where human participants or sensitive information are involved, authors must comply with applicable ethical requirements and protect confidentiality as necessary.

4. Correspondence to the Editors

Correspondence to the editors provides a scholarly forum for discussing issues relevant to the journal's scope, including constructive responses to previously published articles, critical academic observations, and contributions that stimulate further scholarly debate. Submissions should be concise, evidence-based, respectful, and focused on a clearly defined academic issue. Correspondence responding to a previously published article should identify the article concerned and explain the main points of discussion. The editors may consider contributions on broader topics of scholarly interest, provided that they are relevant to the journal's aims and scope. All correspondence is subject to editorial assessment, and the editors reserve the right to edit submissions for clarity, length, and style while preserving their intended meaning.

Editorial Considerations

All manuscripts are evaluated for relevance to the journal's aims and scope, originality, scholarly significance, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, and compliance with publication ethics. Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee acceptance or publication. The journal reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not meet its academic standards or submission requirements. Specific requirements concerning manuscript length, structure, references, and editorial procedures are determined by the journal's current author guidelines.
