Correction and Retraction

Amorti: Jurnal Studi Islam Interdisipliner is committed to preserving the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the scholarly record. When significant errors, omissions, or concerns regarding the integrity of a published article are identified, the journal will assess the matter and take appropriate action. Authors, readers, and reviewers are encouraged to report suspected errors or ethical concerns to the Editor-in-Chief, providing a clear explanation and relevant supporting evidence. All reports will be evaluated objectively and impartially, with consultation involving the authors and, where necessary, reviewers, members of the Editorial Board, independent experts, or relevant institutions. The journal takes into consideration the applicable guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and recommendations of the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).

1. Corrections

A correction may be published when a verified error in a published article affects its accuracy, interpretation, or clarity but does not undermine the validity of its principal findings or conclusions. Corrections may take the form of a corrigendum for errors attributable to the authors or an erratum for errors introduced during the journal's editorial or production process, as appropriate.

Each correction notice will identify the affected article, describe the error, explain the necessary amendment, and clarify its implications for the published work. The correction notice will be permanently linked to the original article to ensure transparency and traceability. Any amendments to the published version will be clearly documented in accordance with the journal's publication policies.

2. Retractions

Retraction may be considered when compelling evidence indicates that a published article is unreliable or that its publication seriously violates research integrity or publication ethics. Grounds for retraction may include major errors that invalidate the findings, fabrication or falsification of data, plagiarism, substantial redundant publication, or serious ethical violations in the conduct or reporting of research.

Retraction decisions will be made following a careful assessment of the available evidence and the potential consequences for the scholarly record. Where appropriate, the journal may consult the authors, independent experts, or relevant institutions before reaching a decision. A formal retraction notice will identify the affected article, explain the reasons for retraction, and indicate the party or parties responsible for initiating the retraction, where applicable. The notice will distinguish between honest error and research misconduct whenever the available evidence permits such a distinction.

The original article will ordinarily remain accessible to preserve the publication record but will be clearly marked as retracted and linked to the corresponding retraction notice. This approach is intended to ensure transparency while preventing readers from treating unreliable findings as valid research.

3. Expressions of Concern

An expression of concern may be issued when substantial questions arise regarding the reliability, accuracy, or ethical integrity of a published article, but the available evidence is insufficient to support an immediate correction or retraction. Such a notice may also be appropriate when an investigation is ongoing or when a resolution is expected to require considerable time.

The notice will describe the nature of the concerns and provide a direct link to the relevant article. When additional evidence becomes available or the investigation reaches a conclusion, the journal will review the case and, where appropriate, update the record by issuing a correction, retraction, or other relevant editorial notice.

4. Responsibilities of Authors and Editorial Procedures

Authors are expected to cooperate fully with the journal in resolving post-publication concerns. This may include providing original data, research documentation, methodological explanations, ethical approval information, or other materials necessary to assess the validity and integrity of the published work.

The Editors will handle all reports confidentially where appropriate, ensure that the parties concerned have a reasonable opportunity to respond, and base decisions on the available evidence rather than unsupported allegations. The nature of the concern, the reliability of the evidence, and the potential impact on the scholarly record will guide the choice of corrective action.

Through these procedures, Amorti: Jurnal Studi Islam Interdisipliner seeks to ensure that errors are addressed responsibly, research misconduct is handled appropriately, and the reliability and credibility of its published scholarship are maintained.
