Ghuluw Dalam Beragama Perspektif Muhamad Ibn Saleh Al-Usaimin dan Implikasinya Terhadap Moderasi Beragama

This study aims to analyze the concept of ghuluw in religion according to Muhammad Ibn Saleh Al-Usaimin and its implications for strengthening religious moderation. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research. Primary data were obtained from the works, fatwas, and explanations of Al-Usaimin on the prohibition of excessiveness in religion. Secondary data were taken from academic literature on ghuluw, wasathiyyah, extremism, and religious moderation. The data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis through text reading, coding, theme classification, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that ghuluw, according to Al-Usaimin, refers to exceeding the limits in worship, belief, praise, criticism, and religious practice. The analysis of QS. An-Nisā’ verse 171 and QS. Al-Mā’idah verse 77 shows that ghuluw can arise from personal desire, ignorance, and imitation of deviant groups from the past. This study concludes that Al-Usaimin’s thought provides a theological foundation for religious moderation. Religious moderation means maintaining balance between firm religious commitment and rejection of extremism and negligence.
