Abstract

Violent theft is a serious criminal offence that threatens public security, violates individual rights, and disrupts social order. Addressing this crime requires effective law enforcement strategies supported by legal education and public participation. This study aims to examine the strategies employed by General Criminal Investigation Officers in handling violent theft in Bengkulu City, identify the educational dimensions of their investigative practices, and analyse these strategies from the perspective of fiqh siyasah. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data are collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving relevant law enforcement officers and other related parties. The analysis focuses on investigative procedures, legal awareness initiatives, community engagement, and preventive measures. The perspective of fiqh siyasah is used to evaluate these practices based on the principles of justice (al-‘adl), public welfare (maslahah), accountability, and the protection of human rights. This study seeks to explain how law enforcement strategies can be strengthened through legal education and preventive efforts to reduce the risk of violent theft. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of integrating effective investigation, public legal awareness, and Islamic political jurisprudence to promote fair, accountable, and community-oriented law enforcement in Bengkulu City.
