Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the application of the model Self-Directed Learning (SDL) media-assisted puzzle mathematics on mathematics learning outcomes in the addition and subtraction of whole numbers material for second-grade students at SD Negeri 02 Sriwangi. Using a quantitative approach with a designPre-Experimenta lshape One-Group Pretest-Posttest DesignThis study involved all 16 second-grade students using a saturated sampling technique. Data collection was conducted through an initial test (pretest) and final test (posttest). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality testsShapiro-Wilk, as well as hypothesis testingPaired Sample t-test. The results of the descriptive analysis show an increase in the average class score of 18.12 points, from 64.69 at the first stage.pretestto 82.81 onposttest, as well as a jump in classical learning completion from 18.75% (3 students) to 93.75% (15 students). Inferential test resultsPaired Sample t-testgenerate value with significance  ( ), which confirms the rejection and acceptance . In addition, the effect size obtained (Cohen’s d) of 2.49 indicates a very large treatment impact. Taking into account the limitations of a single-group design without a control group, the combination of SDL and mediapuzzleproven to be effective in improving the conceptual understanding of mathematics in lower grade studentsThis study aims to analyze the influence of the application of the model Self-Directed Learning (SDL) media-assisted puzzle mathematics on mathematics learning outcomes in the addition and subtraction of whole numbers material for second-grade students at SD Negeri 02 Sriwangi.
