Abstract

This research is motivated by the demands of pedagogical transformation in the Merdeka Curriculum era, which requires teachers to adapt to differentiated and in-depth learning. This study aims to analyze the quality management of academic supervision in improving teacher performance in two schools with different socio-geographical characteristics, namely SMP Negeri 3 Baleendah and SMP Negeri 38 Kota Bandung. The study used a qualitative approach with a multi-site case study method, where data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. The research findings show that planning was carried out in a participatory manner through the MGMP forum and learning communities by adapting the Merdeka Mengajar (PMM) Platform instrument. The implementation transformed from an inspection model to a humanistic, technology-based coaching and peer supervision approach. Evaluation was carried out systematically using the Tabayyun principle and a digital analytics dashboard. Follow-up was implemented through ongoing coaching such as In-House Training (IHT) and pedagogical clinics. Despite facing digital infrastructure constraints, financing rigidities, and technostress, the adaptive instructional leadership of school principals has proven effective in improving teacher performance in designing innovative teaching and assessment modules.
